Drink of the Month (Nov 2013)

Image
Sex on the Beach is one of my favorite bar drinks but it gets a little embarrassing ordering them sometimes. While the original drink has a bunch of different ingredients (most that you wouldn't normally have at home) I have simplified a ghetto version of the drink with the same flavors in just 3 common ingredients!!! Sex on the Beach - Simplified Version Ingredients: Vodka Orange Juice Cranberry Directions: 1) Add vodka and orange juice to your glass leaving room at the top 2) Add a splash of cranberry juice

Cinco de Mayo 2013

Happy Cinco de Mayo!! This year we didn't celebrate with full on Mexican food but we did do Chips, salsa, and margaritas to go along with our BBQ!!! I have been doing homemade chips for a while but have been wanting to make salsa . . .after see this recipe on Six Sisters Stuff  for Copy Cat Chili's Salsa on Pinterest I knew that this was going to be my starting point. Thirsty Thursday - Aug 30, 2012

Image
Hey Ya'll Thirsty Thursday is something that I want to start putting up each week - whether it is alcoholic or just some cool new drink we have found the plan is to get you a new drink each week This week for you we have 2 drinks to start you off DRINK 1 S'more Russian   1 part Three Olives S'mores Vodka 2 parts Milk (we used non-fat)   REVIEW/NOTES: The S'mores Vodka has more of a nutty taste than you would think but is actually really good. If you aren't used to the vodka taste try a more fatty milk (2% or whole) and that should help but definitely a must try if you can find the vodka     DRINK 2 Jillian Micheal's Detox Water   60 oz of water 1 bag of dandelion root tea 1 Tablespoon Cranberry Juice 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice   REVIEW/NOTES: This water is suppose to be used to jump start a diet and help you loose some water weight. After mixing all the ingredients together you drink the whole pitcher throughout th...

With us HOPEFULLY moving next weekend we are trying to clear out and clean up everything in the house and that includes the pantry. We did this some-what a few months ago before the wedding since we knew we would be gone for 2 weeks but now we are taking it to the extreme because we really don't want to have to worry about moving any food. . . plus we don't have a fridge for the new place yet sooooo. . .  . This is what we came up with last night: Red Wine Spritzers Ingredients: -Red Wine -Sprite Zero -Frozen Peaches Directions: 1) Place two frozen peaches inside of glass 2) Fill half of the glass with red wine 3) Top with Sprite Zero

Fruit Smoothies

Image
Eddie Loves Breakfast Food while I on the other hand would rather just have a coffee, jamba juice, etc. I have been making coffee every morning but lately its getting a bit too hot and homemade iced coffee just doesn't taste the same. Fitness Magazine this month had a few ideas for adding fruit to your diet and these fruit smoothies were a part of that. Best part is with this recipe you can use whatever fruit you want just make sure you have on hand half a banana (to give it the creaminess) and some kind of milk (to bind it all together) . . . I plan on playing around with the liquid part in the future maybe green tea, fruit juice, etc but for now here is the basic recipe Fruit Smoothies Ingredients: -3/4 cup milk -1/2 cup frozen fruit -1/2 banana (fresh or frozen) Directions: 1) Place all 3 ingredients in blender and blend until smooth NOTES : -I used vanilla soy milk but you can use whatever milk that you have on hand -If you need some sweetne...
