With us HOPEFULLY moving next weekend we are trying to clear out and clean up everything in the house and that includes the pantry. We did this some-what a few months ago before the wedding since we knew we would be gone for 2 weeks but now we are taking it to the extreme because we really don't want to have to worry about moving any food. . . plus we don't have a fridge for the new place yet sooooo. . .  . This is what we came up with last night: Red Wine Spritzers Ingredients: -Red Wine -Sprite Zero -Frozen Peaches Directions: 1) Place two frozen peaches inside of glass 2) Fill half of the glass with red wine 3) Top with Sprite Zero

Fruit Smoothies

Image
Eddie Loves Breakfast Food while I on the other hand would rather just have a coffee, jamba juice, etc. I have been making coffee every morning but lately its getting a bit too hot and homemade iced coffee just doesn't taste the same. Fitness Magazine this month had a few ideas for adding fruit to your diet and these fruit smoothies were a part of that. Best part is with this recipe you can use whatever fruit you want just make sure you have on hand half a banana (to give it the creaminess) and some kind of milk (to bind it all together) . . . I plan on playing around with the liquid part in the future maybe green tea, fruit juice, etc but for now here is the basic recipe Fruit Smoothies Ingredients: -3/4 cup milk -1/2 cup frozen fruit -1/2 banana (fresh or frozen) Directions: 1) Place all 3 ingredients in blender and blend until smooth NOTES : -I used vanilla soy milk but you can use whatever milk that you have on hand -If you need some sweetness try adding agave

Homemade Take-Out

Image
As much as me and Eddie love going out with the NBA playoffs we have been staying in ALOT. While playing around on our iPad the other day I found  this recipe for Honey Sesame Chicken  and thought why not make some homemade Chinese Take out? Was a little iffy about it not knowing what Eddie would think but to my surprise it was quickly gone, made the house smell AMAZING!!!, and Eddie can't wait to have it again. . . WIN!!! Crock Pot Honey Sesame Chicken Ingredients : -3 pounds of Chicken Breast -Salt and Pepper -1 cup honey -1/2 cup soy sauce -1/4 cup ketchup -2 tbsps oil -2 cloves of minced garlic -1 tbsp red pepper flakes -4 tsps cornstarch -6 tbsp water -Sesame Seeds Directions: 1) Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper then place in Crock Pot 2) Mix together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes 3) Pour sauce on top of chicken 4) Cook in Crock Pot on low for 4 hours or high for 2 5) Remove Chicken from the Crock Pot 6) Dis

Breakfast Cupcakes

Image
Being as Addicted to Pinterest as I am, a lot of the ideas I get for things come from the site. Recently, I have been seeing a lot of recipes for savory cupcakes, eggs cooked in muffin tins for breakfast sandwiches, edible serving cups, etc. Rather then trying to make all of the different ideas I instead put them all together to make Eddie these breakfast cupcakes Eddie's Breakfast Cupcakes Ingredients: -Deli/Sandwich Ham -Bacon (Regular or Turkey) -Cheese -Eggs Directions: 1) Pre-Heat oven to 375 degrees 2) Spray a muffin tin with cooking spray 3) Place 1 Piece of Ham in each cupcake hole 4) Roll Bacon into a circle (like a bracelet) and line in the inside of the ham with it 5) Place cheese in the bottom of your bacon ring 6) Crack one egg on top of the cheese or scramble eggs and pour mixture inside 7) Bake for 15-20 minutes  NOTES/TIPS: -You don't need to fill the whole cupcake mold unless you want to. Just use as many as you wan

Cake Batter Cookies

Image
Last night Eddie was craving cookies . . . It was around 10pm, we were out of cookie dough, and making them from scratch was out of the question (LOL) However I did have cake mix and for whatever reason Pinterest has had a ton of cake batter recipes including cookies up lately so I thought why not? I thought they turned out AWESOME!!! Totally tasted like cake batter with a cookie texture and cooked up in a snap . . . super easy late night cookies :) CAKE BATTER COOKIES Ingredients: -1 Box Cake Mix -2 eggs -1/3 cup Oil -Cookie Toppings (optional) Directions : 1) Pre-Heat Oven to 375 degrees 2) Mix everything together until blended 3) Bake for 6 minutes 4) Top cookies with toppings (as you can see in the picture we used a little Bit of everything) 5) Let Cool NOTES: -Vanilla cake mix can be made into any flavor you want. Walmart Steaks?

Image
When Eddie and I think about buying meat at Walmart we are always a little iffy about it and it definitely depends on what type of meat it is. I don't about your home state but here in Utah we have been seeing the "Walmart Steak Over" Commercial 24/7!!! If you haven't seen it click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blGTI0kRLqc This got us wondering so we took the risk and purchased 2 types of their USDA Choice Steaks 1) Stew Meat : Cooked it in the slow cooker on low for 8 hours in taco marinade for burritos 2)  Grilling Steaks : Done stove-top to medium well cooking on Medium-High heat for 7 minutes per side then sliced it up and used in a sandwich served with bar chips (of course!) Surprisingly --> They weren't bad . . .They weren't the best steaks we have had and weren't the worst . . .However, we did prefer the stew meat we used in burritos a little better but would do grilling steaks again in a steak sandwich or salad and probably actu

Cinco de Mayo

Image
Being from the Bay Area Eddie and I are used to being able to get GOOD Mexican food. . . However since moving to Utah we haven't found one Mexican restaurant that fits the flavor we are used to and looking for. For Cinco de Mayo yesterday we both had high expectations of what we wanted and that's exactly what we got The Aced's Cinco de Mayo Menu Appetizer - Homemade Chips with Salsa and Guacamole Main Dish - Chili Colorado Burritos Drink - Margaritas Tortilla Chips Ingredients -Corn Tortillas -Olive Oil -Garlic Salt -Chili Powder Directions 1) Pre-Heat Oven to 350 degrees 2) spread out 4-5 Tortillas (depending on size of baking sheet) 3) brush with olive oil 4) stack on top of each other and cut into 8 pieces 5) Place on baking sheet being sure to not overlap 6) sprinkle with garlic salt and chili powder 7) Bake for 10 minutes Fresh Margaritas Ingredients -2 oz Tequila -1 oz Lime Juice -1/2 oz Simple Syrup -1/2 oz Gr

Bar Chips

Image
Since visiting Irena and Sheenan in Arizona after our honeymoon me and Eddie have been obsessed with BAR CHIPS!!! We stopped at a restaurant while we were out there visiting and this restaurant served what they called "bar chips" during happy hour. They were a mix between chips and french fries and gone quickly after hitting our side of the bar. When we got home it was my mission to re-create the bar chips. Originally they are fried but since I am deathly afraid of frying ANYTHING!!! mine are "oven fried" and last night I think we FINALLY perfected them!!! Sabrina's Oven "Fried" Bar Chips Ingredients: -4-6 Small Potatoes -Olive Oil -Minced Garlic -Seasoned Salt Directions : 1) Pre-heat Oven to 425 degrees 2) Completely Cover the bottom of a high walled baking sheet with oil 3) Spoon a few spoonfuls of garlic directly into the oil and spread around until evenly throughout the whole baking sheet 4) Sprinkle seasoned salt on to

Wedding Photos Part 2

Image
Of all the pictures we took before the wedding our favorites were taken at the red phone booth right when you walk into the Mirage. The first day we got there the phone booth caught my eye and I thought it would be a fun photo op just because let alone wedding pics and it totally worked!!

Cheesy Bites Pizza

Image
Quite Frequently Eddie sees commercials on TV and rather then thinking about ordering them he thinks "OOOOO Sabrina Needs to Make That!!!!" The Newest thing that Sabrina needed to make is Cheesy Bites Pizza from the new Pizza Hut commercial (I think . . .don't quote me on that) but figured since I could do stuffed crust pizza this shouldn't be that hard and surprisingly it wasn't  . . . Ingredients : 2 cans premade pizza crusts 1 Package of String Cheese Pizza Toppings Directions : 1) Open 1 Can of Pizza crust and lay out on a baking sheet or pizza stone making the crust as circular as you can 2) Open the second can of pizza crust and lay out on a cutting board keeping the rectangular shape 3) Lay 2 cheese sticks across the top and roll until the cheese in covered in dough 4) Cut the covered cheese stick off then cur each stick into 3-4 pieces (so you end up with 6-8 mini cheese bites) Then place these bites around your crust 5) Repeat until entir
