Gluten Free Pizza

Image
While being Gluten Free me and Eddie have been on the Quest trying to find the BEST GF Pizza on the market - whether is was using some kind of crust mix or pre made we tried a lot of different options. . . We tried the Namaste Foods Gluten Free Pizza Crust Mix last month with not the best results. The pack came with 2 servings and no matter how much I cooked it or thin I spread the mix it just didn't taste right as you are see here. Since then we have tried two more options: Udi's Gluten Free Pizza Crusts These we found in the freezer section of the grocery store you can either keep them frozen or in the fridge (we keep them frozen and they defrosted in like 15 minutes) It comes with in the bag and they are the size of a personal pizza and you top them with whatever you want then throw them into the oven. While these were defiantly better than the Namaste Foods Pizza Crust they still did have a little bit of a gummy texture to them. If we were to try them again I woul...

GF update

It has been about 6 weeks since me and Eddie started our bread free/ Gluten free diet. We are still going strong but have decided to add in a cheat meal once a week and expand our menu with new gluten free items. We have been shopping different grocery stores to see what they have to offer and have found lots of promising item but not very many that have been awesome or better than the originals. On that note lets start with the good things we have found and will probably continue to eat even after this diet. 1) Glutino Gluten Free Pretzels Picture from caloriecount.about.com   These pretzels are so good and super crunchy. We have eaten them plain, dipped them in dips, put them in the food processor to use as "bread crumbs". . . super good!!! 2) Blue Diamond Almond Nut Thins - Pepper Jack Cheese Picture from www.bluediamond.com   You wouldn't think that an almond cracker would taste good but the nuttiness that the almond brings to these crackers is really...

Walmart Steaks?

When Eddie and I think about buying meat at Walmart we are always a little iffy about it and it definitely depends on what type of meat it is. I don't about your home state but here in Utah we have been seeing the "Walmart Steak Over" Commercial 24/7!!! If you haven't seen it click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blGTI0kRLqc This got us wondering so we took the risk and purchased 2 types of their USDA Choice Steaks 1) Stew Meat : Cooked it in the slow cooker on low for 8 hours in taco marinade for burritos 2)  Grilling Steaks : Done stove-top to medium well cooking on Medium-High heat for 7 minutes per side then sliced it up and used in a sandwich served with bar chips (of course!) Surprisingly --> They weren't bad . . .They weren't the best steaks we have had and weren't the worst . . .However, we did prefer the stew meat we used in burritos a little better but would do grilling steaks again in a steak sandwich or salad and prob...
