Spicy Meatball Subs

This recipe has been sitting on my fridge since I made it. I have had a few hesitations about blogging it because
1) Its a ton of ingredients and lot of steps - which i'm not usually fond of
2) I liked it but eddie thought it was WAYYYYYY too spicy

However, I don't want to lose the recipe so before that happens I'm going to share it with you along with a few tips and tricks I found along the way

THE MEATBALLS

Ingredients:
1 pound ground sausage
1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tsp italian seasoning
1 tsp mined garlic
Bread Crumbs

Directions:
1) Pre Heat Oven to 350 degrees
2) Mix all ingredients together adding bread crumbs until the mixture forms a big ball
3) Roll out small golf ball size balls (i got 24) then place into a greased mini muffin tin or on greased baking sheet
4) Cook for 20 minutes
5) Broil for 5 minutes (adds a nice crunch)

THE SPICY SUB SAUCE

Ingredients:
1 can tomato paste
2 tsp greek seasoning (or 1 tsp italian 1 tsp garlic powder)
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Directions:
1) Over Medium Heat Combine all the ingredients together

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

1) Cut a Baguette in half sandwich style
2) Spread the inside with sub sauce
3) Add the Meat Balls
4) Top with Mozzarella Cheese
5) Broil for 2 minutes or until cheese is melted

NOTES:
-1 tsp of red pepper flakes can be too much spice - start at 1/2 tsp if your worried about it
-Extra Sub Sauce makes the perfect pizza sauce and with all the toppings and cheese you don't taste the spice (this was eddies favorite way to eat the sub sauce)
