Italian Holiday Cookie #3: Amaretto (Almond) Cookies
I love throwing a themed holiday party on Christmas Eve each year for Eddie's Family. Growing up as a family we always celebrated Christmas Eve with my Aunt Rose so when we moved to Utah it didn't feel right not doing anything - Hense Christmas at the Aced every Christmas Eve
This years Theme is Italian Christmas Pizza Party and for dessert I am making a ton of Italian Cookies
Ingredients
1/2 cup Butter
1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp almond extract + 1/2 tsp for icing
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tbsp baking powder
2 tbsp milk + 3 tbsp for icing
2 cups powdered sugar
Sprinkles
Directions
1) Pre Heat oven to 350 degrees
2) Cream together butter and sugar
3) Add 1 cup flour and baking powder then mix
4) Add 1 tbsp milk and mix
5) 1 more cup of flour and mix
6) 1 tbsp milk and mix
7) Rest of Flour and mix
8) Scoop out on baking sheet and cook for 12 minutes and let cool
9) While cookies are cooling Make Icing using 2 cups powdered sugar - 2 tbsp milk - 1/2 tsp almond extract
10) Dip cookies in icing then sprinkles and set on cooling rack until icing hardens
